whenever i installed the drivers on my 4870's in crossfire it would say the installion completed with "warnings". so i would look at the log file and there was some hardware info there, a few rows that has some info and said 'success' and then nothing in the errors section. so i had no idea what the warnings actually were.

after i would reboot and my computer would become unresponsive once it loaded into the windows 7 desktop with the hdd light constantly flashing but nothing was really happening... the mouse movement would be very jumpy to and i wasn't able to click on anything (apart from in the first few seconds of it loading the desktop).

i would have to force it to reboot with the bios reset button, and then sometimes have to do this a second time. then it would appear to operate as normal.

i assumed it was a crossfire problem but ive just taken out one of my cards as i posted it off to a mate who bought it. uninstalled drivers, crossfire game profiles and msi afterburner. booted into safe mode and used driver sweeper. booted back into windows, installed graphics drivers and still i get the "warnings" message but i cant figure out what the warnings are. this time however i didn't get the unresponsive mouse and desktop problems like when i installed with 2 cards in crossfire.

never experienced this until i went crossfire with my 4870's and thought it was something to do with that, but now im back to a single card and it still happens. so confused!! any ideas?? thanks!

That's AMD drivers for you ...

Just kidding, it may just be they aren't supported by Windows yet. I sometimes get an error message when installing beta drivers that aren't certified for Windows.

haha 😛

well it happened with the previous 11.9 drivers to. im not using beta drivers so not sure why :/

sorry i know its a bit annoying when people bump threads but im really stuck here >_< any other ideas on this anyone?

ok i know no one else has been able to suggest anything yet but here's a bit info on what's happened today. i took out my 4870's, used driver sweeper etc. reinstalled my motherboard chipset drivers and go the same thing about "warnings", then installed the drivers for my new 6950 and the same thing happened. the mobo chipset drivers were installed through the amd catalyst thing also.

here's a copy paste of the install log file...any ideas?:
