Hello everyone, i come to you today with a problem that has been bugging me for a while.
While playing some games (Team Fortress 2, Mount&Blade: Warband), the game itself often freezes for something like 10 seconds, and restarts again.
When this occurs, i get a message in the lower right part of my screen, saying that the AMD Driver stopped responding and succesfully recovered.
What puzzles me, is that Warband, as example, isn't much of a heavy game(i managed to play it flawlessly on a much older and less powerful PC), and while playing World of Warcraft with (almost) max settings, in a graphics-heavy environment(boss fights, with spells and shiny things floating around), i have no problems.
Thinking it a common problem (i had it on an nvidia card too with a much older machine), i looked around on the internet for solutions, but none seems to do the trick.
I tried updating the drivers themselves in the Device Manager, but the problem stands.
My machine is a HP Envy 17 laptop, and the specs are as follows:
OS: Windows 7 Home premium 64-bit SP1
Processor: Intel Core i7 CPU Q 720 @1.60 GHz
RAM: 6 GB
VGA: ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5850
I apologize for any syntax or grammatical errors, but English isn't my first language.
Thanks in advance for any advice, and have a good day!
