Ahhhh crap... you fixed it before I could get a chance...

I was having some major copy and paste issues there... I never want to relive that again...

And at around 100watts!

TDP. Actual power consumption difference between the X2 and the 840 is even far greater than their TDPs would lead you to believe.

Yeah now if they would get their 65nm process rolling sometime soon and drop those prices to something a little more affordable I'd be all over it. However I have but little money to spend.

Don't get 4800+, get 4200+ instead, it's much cheaper and performance is 90% of 4800+.

Just take a look at this. <A HREF="http://techreport.com/reviews/2005q2/athlon64-venice/index.x?pg=7" target="_new">Venice core test, includes 4800 and 4200 for comparison</A>
And at 530$ it's not ridicuously expensive.
If you want bigger L2 to improve gaming then get 4400+ at 580$.

How many people do you know that spend that kind of money on a CPU alone... I'm talking to Intel dual core prices here. Drop them to $300 or so and it'd be much more attractive not to mention they'd probably get more revenue that way as well.
