Hey Crashman, That was speed of one of my earlier computer (compaq) which is still being used by a friend. It was an intel and I wanted to put amd dx4-100 in it. Intel said would'nt work. A computer shop said it would. Would it have? and what was the difference in design? was it a multiplier change from two to four? Been buggin me for years.

Probably not. Since Compaq does not like to give out that kind of information, you would have had to read the printing on the board (if there was any), or use an overdrive chip (such as the evergreen 5x86-133 with onboard multipliers and resistors).
