AMD Expands Reach Of Wraith Cooler To FX-8350, FX-6350 CPUs

The 8350 and 6350 already had some of the better stock coolers out there. Just the fans were extremely loud. Going to a larger fan and better airflow direction as well as higher fin count adds a little to the cost, but it is definitely a welcome improvement.

I recently built a new PC for an elderly friend of mine and decided on a A10 CPU. Having a wraith would have been real fun, but it wasn't available. I'd love to see the wraith be an option FOR ALL THE THINGS! :D

Splendid
Very nice I'm thinking about upgrading from my fx-6300 soon so this will be a nice addition if I go with the 8350

I'd just wait for zen that 6300 will be good enough to then save that 170 or so for zen and a board or Intel if you want to move over

well, I guess if you cant do anything in the cpu department may as well do something with the coolers to help promote sales of any kind ..

now if they would put that effort into a new cpu . I hate to think this is a ploy to make am3+ go another few years - you know like giving a old car a new paint job .. in the end you still got a old car

I may do that after playing the division. It recommends an 8350 but I'm playing on high settings and as side from the initial loading my cpu never hits over 60% utilization.

Oculus rift system requirements do not list ANY AMD CPU as being capable of meeting minimum or any other requirements. Guess maybe AMD and the folks who make the Rift should have a conversation since apparently there is not an agreement on this matter. Considering the i5-4590 is listed as the bare bones minimum, I really doubt that a stock 6 core Piledriver chip is going to make the grade.

anyway to buy the cooler as a stand alone? i don't have bakeplate access and my current cooler is... not doing so good.

As people buy these CPUs bundled with Wraith coolers and build PCs with water or a better air cooler the stock wraith coolers will end up on EBAY. IF you want one just check there.

can we who own the 8350 already buy the coolder alone?

Just get the hyper 212 evo when on sale for under $30. This cooler is not special when compared to after market coolers.

Why didn't they do this when these CPU's were relevant.
oh yeah, i forgot how cpu's dissolve after a few years.

He means when they weren't so hopelessly outperformed by their competition and you know it.

What Intel chip in games beats the 8350 @ 4.7ghz on a $170 budget? Enlighten us.

'' What Intel chip in games beats the 8350 @ 4.7ghz on a $170 budget? Enlighten us. ''

well first thing is most games run off the gpu not the cpu now what amd chip beats any intel at core processing power ?? [at any price]

as said AMD is good enough for gaming , as long as there gpu bound games

just like I said above sad AMD got to improve there coolers cause they can improve there chips but maybe ''next year'' [AMD's new motto]

It is a last effort to sell off these old CPU's. New Zen cpu's coming from AMD this year.

Did I say the 9590 was good value? NO. Intel wins in single threaded tasks but to match the multi core performance of the 8350 you need to drop $240 on a 4670k to match.

http://www.tomshardware.com/answers/id-2047924/intel-equivalent-8350.html

dude the 4670 is 4 core and the amd is a 8 ?? what do you mean ? what match , and why a ''k'' ? the non k whips up on that so called 8 core AMD sorely for less ??

matter of fact I never build a intel rig until my AMD 3+ experience and found out it was a waste of my time and money after I did do the jump over to intel first time in like 15 years

don't you see mulit core in my test activated ?? that's not single core runs there full fledged all cores banging

hate to think I I had a 1230 xeon that does have hyperthreading how bad the scores would be at 220 or so $ ..

here go to the ''Fastest Times:'' and pull up any runs and see how far you got to go down the list before you see your first fx chips [a long way down] over non overclocked ''lesser '' as you say intels i5's at the least ..sad
