amd files on windows after changing to intel

Hello,

After changing motherboard and CPU i performed a clean install of windows through USB, but after looking around on file explorer i found under windows > WinSxS a lot of files starting with AMD, what are these and how are they related to my system (I have an intel CPU and before I had AMD)

so what so you mean by c a clean install? do you mean you formatted your PC and installed windows or you reinstalled windows and didn't lose any files?

Thats normal AMD created the x86-64 instruction set, and thats why those files are named AMD64

downloaded install media on a USB stick, formated all disks on there then installed windows

Not right answer but if you have an Asus Motherboard you may also get a driver pack through Windows Update called AMD which actually stands for Asus Motherboard Drivers

that used to confuse me years ago when I asked a similar question, I have Intel, why AMD?
