[citation][nom]acadia11[/nom]How about they do me a favor and release BullDozer.[/citation]
theyve been saying for a long time now that bulldozer would be coming out in late september, so chill.

I waiting on bulldozer and ivy bridge...I wld like to see amd bring a warhorse to the show instead of a sprint pony...I like amd but I wld love for them to give intel a good run...:)...amd is performance and money value in one but intel is still miles ahead even w prev generations...idk...just wld like amd to compete as much w processors as they do with high end graphics...but that b another topic all together

In the beginning Amd said bulldozer would come out in june didnt happen, then july didnt happen, then august didnt happen, and now september. Lets wait and see. Im still waiting for bulldozer and for now i got a feeling that they want to launch Bulldozer with the 7000 series of gpus.

I like how the comments have become about Bulldozer and are in almost no way related to the article.

Since we are on that subject then..

I assume Bulldozer will at LEAST perform similarly to Intel's Gulftown architecture, if not they are looking towards parallel processing instead of raw performance per core.

I remember reading an article last year about how they expect per-core performance to be around 12% better than Phenom cores which is actually pretty good.

BUT, Considering Bulldozer uses "Modules", were they referring to a 12% increase in performance per module, or per core sitting on those modules?

Since Bulldozer will have a plentiful amount of cores either way, I'm hoping that each thread provided by the CPU's modules performs at least on-par with Gulftown. If they manage to bring it up to Sandy Bridge's level then that would be fantastic.

[citation][nom]otacon72[/nom]Bulldozer is already a generation behind...[/citation]

People like you need to go elsewhere with ignorant comments like that.

Any chance someone(zotac) puts out a mini itx motherboard with one of these integrated? They have a MB with a nvidia 430 on it, I just like AMD better than nvidia.

[citation][nom]otacon72[/nom]Bulldozer is already a generation behind...[/citation]
What generation? Because they have a slightly longer product lifecycle means they are a generation behind? Just because you (or your wife) give birth and have 1 more kid than me and I'm a generation behind you?

I don't think AMD is hyping BD because they want that forum publicity and when someone acquires a leak, that publicity. After all 68xx was really secretive and it go so much publicity from people trying to find out more about it.

AMD "quietly" launched a new line of GPUs designed specifically for the All-In-One market? ...really? ... i think, it was launched with introduction of new 2011 iMac's...

LoL they can't even clean them for the commercials. And that Win 7 "bootup" looked fake. Also, Ubuntu boots up in 14-15 seconds on my pc with normal HDD at 7,200 RPM.

"Bulldozer is already a generation behind..." - I'm a bit tired of this misconception. What the heck does that even mean? If bulldozer is 10x faster than i7, will you still shout "one generation behind"? Generations make sense within the same company, not across competing ones.
Production cycles are not written in stone, it's up to each company to lay their milestones. Intel has been adding roughly 20% performance in each of it's CPU generation. If AMD adds 50% or 100%, they will be on par, even though they release fewer generations. That's what happened in the K7 days, remember?

I think this is perhaps the pc of the future!
A "one screen hosts it all" solution!
[QOUTE]

Yes, I believe this is a first in computing, never, has anyone ever, even thought to combine the PC screen and cpu into 1 box!!!! This is revolutionary.

It's about as revolutionary as cloud computing, you know, a central mainframe that holds all your data, and programs, storage, allowing for thin lightweight clients to access said data, and be updated immediately.

I tell you , all these, new ideas in computing are amazing!!!!

lenovo :)
IBM said pc will going the way of type writer , but lenovo doing so well with it ...... IBM must hate to see they make a wrong decision to sold the pc division to lenovo

[citation][nom]joytech22[/nom]BUT, Considering Bulldozer uses "Modules", were they referring to a 12% increase in performance per module, or per core sitting on those modules?[/citation]

Adding a second integer core to a module results in a 12% increase in size, which translates to 5% per die assuming a 4-module design. Sounds like a very efficient method of improving performance, however if you're going to properly feed those cores you'd need a wider front end. At the same time, they've dumped an ALU and an AGU from the Stars design, so they've added something and taken away something, so that's probably where the extra 12% per module figure comes from.

I can afford to buy Intel products but I don't like the fact they abandon platforms every year. However if Bulldozers fails ill jump over to Intel and get an i5.
