AMD FX-4100 Worries

Ok working up to my first build YAY! Been a life-long dream of mine. Not that I've never had the motivation or time, just never the money. Anyway to the issue at hand. I've been looking at the AMD FX-4100 Black Edition for my CPU.

I've also been looking at the ASUS M5A97 line of Motherboards. The CPU Support List for all of them specifies an

AMD FX-4100 FD4100WMW4KGU

I can barely find this exact CPU online. But I find a billion AMD FX-4100 FD4100WMGUSBX

WHATS THE DIFFERENCE!?!?!?!?!!?

As far as I can find the only difference is the L2 Cache on the FD4100WMW4KGU is 1024 compared to 1000 on the FD4100WMGUSBX

There is approximately a $30-40 difference. Do I absolutely have to go with the more expensive version because it's on the motherboard's CPU list?

Or should I go with a different motherboard?

the cheap one comes with only the CPU.

the expensive one comes with a cooler.

both are generally the same

anyways how about going to FX-4300....

Why do you recommend the 4300? Because it's not a Bulldozer processor or because of greater performance??

yup, piledriver core is much better than bulldozer core...
if it still within the budget range, i would recommend piledriver...

as i noted, the motherboard seems to support the PD chip, with the newest bios....
