Amd fx 4300

Solution
i have seen it perform well. though the newer x4 860k would do better for less money. with a moderate oc and a good cpu, it would game very well. it won't beat out an i5/i7 build but i am sure you don't expect that on a budget :)

I would get a fx cpu simply because you can upgrade later on and it does ok in gaming but don't expect anything over 1080p gaming if you get it does perform well for it's price but i would get the fx 6 core cpus since they are 20-30$ more

It's not terrible. I would not purchase any card above a R9 280X to pair with it. A 270X or 280 would be great, though.

If you're willing to spend an extra $30 bucks, get an FX-8320. Twice the amount of cores. Alternatively, the FX-6300, is usually within $10 of the FX-4300 in cost, so that would be the best bang for the buck.
