Hello recently I've picked up a cheap AMD FX-6300 6 Core Processor, and I noticed in the Task Manager that about three of my cores are parked for some reason, and I would like to know how to un-park them also I noticed it says 3 Cores instead of 6 on the task manager but from what I've been reading 2 cores are basically in 1 core, which I think is normal for this processor but unsure, and is it normal for the cores to be parked for some reason or? as you can see on the CPU-Z it says 6 cores 6 threads, any information would be helpful thanks.

Also i'm running windows 10.

There is a software for unparking cores. Although the chip will automatically unpark the cores when they are needed. But for light use, like video streaming and browsing, it only needs 2 cores. For light gaming, like csgo, also 2-3 cores. For video rendering, all 6.

controlpanel and then power options, might be a little harder to find on windows 10, and yes in the bios you can disable the turbo and fix a speed if desired, if you are gaming I would do this and fix it to say 4ghz , if not you might be better off leaving it
