Hey, i just recently installed my new Amd fx-6300 and when its under heavy load the fan gets upwards of around 5000 rpm and was just wondering if that's normal or not. It keeps the cpu pretty cool compared to what i had before so that's good but i'm just wondering if it's normal for the fan to go that fast if its under load.

Solution
Jet engine speeds? Sounds about right for the stock cooler.
I recommend a 120mm cooler, as they run at half the speeds, and get better performance.

Alright good to know it's normal, and yea it does get pretty damn loud but i game with some nice headphones so i hardly hear it unless theirs a dead silence, as for the temps it hasn't gotten over 50c since i've gotten it put in, this does go a lot faster then my fx 6100's fan did before i upgraded so it kinda threw me off. I do have 2 120mm fans that i'm going to be putting in soon so that might help it calm down a bit. Thanks for the information guys.
