Hello!

I just installed my brand new AMD FX 6350 which is a 6-core 3.9 processor. The speed listed in computer properties and well as in CPU-Z has it listed as a 2.8 clock speed.
I've already tried disabling "Cool and Quiet" but it did not change.

How might I go about to making sure that the CPU is running to it's full ability, and see it listed as 3.9?

Is it showing that when the computer is idle? The number in CPU-Z jumps around depending on what you're doing. Try running a CPU stress tester and see what the clock speed changes to.

Ran it on Prime95
Stayed at a steady 2.8, listed in the system info as 2.8 as well.

CPU Z shows it running at a 14x multiplier to get to 2.8
It has to run at a 19x to get 3.9 (checked in BIOS)

reset your BIOS to optimized defaults or unplug you pc and pull the cmos battery for 15 minutes.

Yeah, that board can't deliver clean power to a 125 watt cpu without the mosfets exploding or catching fire. That board is 3+1 phase power. No heatsinks on the mosfets. I wouldn't run anything above a 65 watt cpu on it. OP, you need a new motherboard. Get a full ATX board with 8+2 phase power. There are no good Micro ATX AM3+ boards.

So best bet would be to upgrade my motherboard then?
