Recently i bought AMD fx-6350 processor. After few days, I notice that he generate too much heat (i use AI suite II that come with my ASUS m5a97 motherboard) and that stock cooler is very noisy. With normal use of computer (not games) temperatures was around 36 up to 46 degrees. When i played games, it jump to +56 and stock cooler was extremely loud. So, i decided to buy new cooler. I bought Artic Cooler Freezer 7 pro and put nice layer of mx-2 thermal paste. Result? While a im writing this, temp is 41 degrees..Nothing is running at background, i have clean installed windows 8, airflow in case is good. I also tried to play games (Metro Last light)..know what happend? It shut down..Moment after, i entered bios and i could see that temp was +60..with new cooler (!)..What is wrong with my cpu? Pls, help me..

Did you remove the thermal paste that is already applied to the bottom of the cooler?
If not you have way to much thermal paste.
On that type heatsink you need a small amount of thermal paste. About the size of a small grain of uncooked rice.

Too much thermal paste acts as an insulator.

If you put too much thermal paste it could have negative effects on heat. I would put a line of thermal paste down the middle of the CPU and press the cooler on the CPU with even pressure.

The artic cooler has a thermal pad/paste already on the bottom of the heatsink when you purchase it.
Did you remove it or did you buy it used?

We have no Idea of what your experience level is . Your initial post did not give a lot of details. So we always start with the most basic troubleshooting and work our way up from there.

You original temps are a little high but not by much.
Does your case have 1-2 or 5 case fans? And what size? 80mm 120mm 200mm? This number does not include CPU ,VGA, power supply or motherboard chipset fans, just case fans.

I bought brand new cooler. I dont have any case ventilation, but i dont think that is problem..MBO temp are betwen 28-30 C..temps of my xfx 7750 are also low. So, it doesnt seems too hot inside..

Did you remove the pre applied thermal pad/paste from the heat sink?
Using it and MX2 will insulate the CPU not conduct heat away from it.
A case fan or two is important to achieve low temps. Otherwise the cpu heat sink will create a circular recycling of heated air. You need to move the hot air out of the case.

Yes, i remove pre applied thermal paste layer..i wil try to put some case fan..but, i also tried this: i put MBO with all components out of case, on table, and start pc..what happend? Temps were only few degrees lower..maybe water cooling will help to cool down non-OC cpu :p

Check your bios settings. or do a CMOS reset.
In the bios, usually under hardware monitoring, you may have an option for fan control.
Different motherboards have different options and may label them differently.
Some have a target CPU temperature. When set to a higer number the cpu fan will turn slower until the target temperature is reached. It will then slowly raise the fan speed to try and stay at the target temperature. If your target temperature is set to 65 it will try to keep the cpu at 65.

Other bios options have preset cooling options.
silent - keeps the fans speeds low for low noise but allows the cpu to run hot.
Normal or standard- runs the fans at a little faster rpm to try to keep things quiet but a little lower cpu temp.
Turbo or max cooling-runs the fans at much higher rpms and is more focused on cooling than noise.

Your bios may use different categories or wording but the principal is the same.
Also some motherboard come with software that monitors and controls temperature and fans. Yours may or may not have this installed. And the options would be similar ,but may not be exactly as described above.

It's seems that problem really was in bad case airflow..I plug in just one small fan and cpu temp was only 27-29 degrees :) Just one small fan..Next month, I will buy 3 or 4 case fan, and i will post some results..Thank you all :)
