I googled around for a bit trying to find the temperatures for it but didn't have any luck. I tried using CPUID HWMonitor but i'm pretty sure it's giving me a false reading because it claims that my cpu is running at 91°C. When I try checking it with Open Hardware Monitor it doesn't even give me a reading for cpu just for my gpu. Why would it be doing this?

Solution
Well if this is a serious reading, that temperature is very dangerous for a CPU of any kind. Is this on idle? Have you tried SpeedFan to check the temps? There are even some other programs that show temps. Does your BIOS show temps? Those should be accurate.'

Ok so this seems to be a notebook processor? Hmm. The CPU max temps in laptops are always higher. Perhaps around 95-100, but as it approaches that number on idle that is dangerous. I would clean out the fan vent with compressed air while the note book is off, and then check if that helps.

It's saying that at 20% utilization. I haven't been able to get into the bios, i've tried F2 and F9 and F10. I think F2 brought me just to a boot menu but it wasn't the full bios. I'm going to try out SpeedFan real quick though. Thank you!

Alright, I just tested SpeedFan and got a reading of 41°C. Thanks for recommending this program, that really freaked me out

I just purchased HP laptop with this processor, noticed the same thing with CPUID Hardware monitor Vs. Speed fan. Impossible that it would have been running that high - laptop would have been hot to the touch, and one would think my fan would start turning.

Must not play will with HDW monitor. Will investigate further.
