AMD FX 8-Core Black Edition good for 4K video or not?

Thank you for your answer. Are you saying that CPU can watch 4K video!
But we need good GPU for 4k! Am i correct?

the fx 8 core has no video output, you need a graphics card to output to a monitor. as far as processing power yes the fx 8 core has plenty of processing power but that is only half.

if you are trying to make an htpc that is 4k capable you will want an a haswell i3 and an nvidia gtx 750 or 750ti. you need something that is hdmi 2.0 compliant and also capable of higher revisions which the gm204 is to a certain extent.

otherwise most other graphics card or cpus with igpus are only hdmi 1.4 capable and 4k capability is only a "maybe" depending on your setup.

The cheapest option would probably be going with an upcoming broadwell I3 (I3 5xxx). This will eliminate the need of getting a dedicated graphics card and it's also cheap itself. Keep in mind that it won't be a very strong cpu for serious computing, but it will let you watch 4k videos (and general pc usage) as good as any other pc.

The new Intels work good for 4k, question is why would you want an 8 core FX just to watch 4k video playback?
