Hello Tomshardware community!

Ok so I ask a lot of stupid questions on this website and here comes another!
What's the word on a AMD FX-8320 3.5GHz 8-Core Processor for budget gaming PC? I'll post the whole budget build if asked

Also please use simple words I'm still new to this stuff... Sorry

Thanks in advance!

If it's a really tight budget gaming PC, then you can't beat AMD's price/performance ratio. The 8320 will perform well enough in games that aren't CPU intensive.
For CPU intensive games (ARMA series, Metro series, FarCry series, and similar) performance really does drop off compared to an intel processor.

If it's a low budget PC, then it's a good option. However, if you can stretch just that little bit to an i5 4460 or similar you'll have a much more rounded gaming PC.
It's an ok gaming processor, but shines even more if you are using programs that take advantage of multi-threading. For gaming though, even a modest 970 chipset motherboard and fx8320 are too close in price to a non-"k" Intel Cpu and h97 motherboard to really recommend it.
