I´ve got a friend that has a fx 8320 and hes willing to sell it to me with his mobo and ram and cooler for about 100 € (a bargain, at least on my country). My doubt is that he always complains about his temps playing especially on summer when he even talks of 80 degrees(don't remember if the core or cpu package) and about 65-70 the rest of the year (on high charge)and he bought this CPU on 2013... so is it worth?
Comparing with the max temps that has the CPU he has cross the limit by far and for 4 years.
Im going to buy something with a short life left?

You'd be buying a mediocre chip on a dead platform. For 100 quid that is definitely a bargain though. Ask him if he overclocks, that would explain the temps. Also FX series tend to run pretty hot in general, so 80 isn't horrible. What cooler is he using? if it's the stock cooler, that explains it too

He didnt overclock the cpu and he said that he had a "good" cooler so thats not the problem.
my theory is that the air flow is failing cause he has the pc under the desk far from the window and close to the wall.
Besides his case only has 2 fan one on the top and another next to the cpu both taking out the air so he doesnt have one inserting fresh air.

It sounds a bargain , irregardless of what people say the 8320 is still capable & will be in 3 or 4 years IMO.
As long as you don't expect much past 60fps from it in modern games

Whether it is a bargain really depends on

1. What motherboard its packaged with ? If its been running on a substandard board the last 3 or 4 years (& there are a lot of boards that will run an 8320 but are really unsuitable) then the board will have been under heavy stress & may not have much life left in it. Paying €100 then another €70-80 6 months down the line when it craps out would not be cost effective.

2. Ram ?? Unless it's coming with 8gb minimum you've for another €40 for ram upgrades - not such a bargain then.

If the above are both OK then realistically its going to cost you €20 maybe to sort the cooling out with something aftermarket

The mobo is a gigabyte GA-990XA-ud3 (rev 1.0). Looks old but not quite cheap. About the ram he has 24 GB so wont be a problem xD.

If i see that even changing the case and improving the air flow still overheat ill do it intermediately but i want to check first if the problem remains in the air flow.
