I recently attempted to install my new AMD FX 8320. I put the 8320 in the socket and pulled the lever. There was no force needed to pull the lever. When I put my FX 4300 back in there was force from the lever. I tried to start the PC with the 8320 and the PC started but nothing came to the monitor and the motherboard didn't beep. There are about 10 slightly bent pins. Would this cause this problem?

Specs: AMD FX 4300 (upgrading to 8320)
GTX 750 1GB
8GB RAM
MSI 760GM-P34 Motherboard.

Please help. - DevinDerps

Bent pins are not a good thing. You should have straight pins when installing the CPU. Also follow what ShadyHamster suggested and update the BIOS before installing the new 8320. Newegg lists the Mobo supports 125w CPU's, so you might be okay there, but OC'ing might be a different animal (not sure on that one).

Newegg says that the motherboard supports 125w but a lot of other sources say it doesn't. I don't know who to go by.

Newegg says that the motherboard supports 125w. Does MSI say otherwise?

I just found out that MSI used to support 125w CPUs for this motherboard but they stopped in 2013. Many people say they run the 8320 perfectly fine with this motherboard though. I'm not sure whether to get a refund for the damaged pins and get an FX 8320E or get a replacement.
