OK. I've had this since 2014 Sept, it's constantly been getting very hot and I'm getting worried. I'm not even doing anything demanding, just web browsing and spotify/skype.. it reached over 80 or so when I used to play CoD on it.

I have the stock cooler as well.

Also, I must add the airflow in the PC is quite awful, but then I am too scared to redo it all myself as I'm worried I may mess my entire PC up. I'm quite young and I feel as if I would break it. I honestly have no idea how I managed to fix it together and get it all working in the first place lol.

- installing fans is easy; just make sure you measure the fan slots so that you don't buy fans that are too big/ small;
- it's a good idea to clean all your coolers at least once every 3-4 months;
- change the thermal paste of the CPU; for the GPU it's optional unless you're upgrading the stock paste;
- stock coolers are mostly meant so that your component will work "well within manageable parameters"; if you want it to shine then invest at least 50-60$ in an aftermarket cooler and at least 10$ in a good thermal paste;
- airflow is automatically better if you take off the side of your case (might shave off 5 degrees).

But also if I take off the side of my case it is automatically exposed to a load more dust and stuff, especially if I accidently knocked a drink or something?

It will get as dusty as the rest of your room; maybe 10-20% dustier since you have fans pulling air towards it. Even with your side off, the recommendation to clean every 3-4 months remains the same. You don't have a dramatic improvement/ loss of performance unless we're talking a huge amount of dust.

Regarding spilling drinks: yes, it's riskier since you can now spill them directly on your components which is a recipe for disaster.
