I dont know that much about overclocking but i think i know a little bit, anyway my question is my 8320 online says its clocked at 3.2 ghz and i was wondering if i went into cpu ratio in the bios and made that 3.5 ghz and left everything els alone. Is that a thing just to get a few extra fps or do i need to ajust other things to even make it stable?

Solution
Might work without increasing voltages. However to increase FPS assumes the cpu is your limiting factor, if your gpu or other part is your limiting factor then overclocking your cpu won’t help. Also 3.2 to 3.5 GHz is about a 9% overclock, so let’s say you get 60fps before overclocking, the absolute maximum improvement you might see is 65-66 FPS, again assuming the limiting factor was the cpu in the first place.

Before overclocking best to list your motherboard, cpu cooler and psu to check they are up to it.

Would you be able to explain what changing the cpu ratio does? Will it be running at that clock at all times , because i still do have the other amd setting enabled and it says it can go to 4 ghz on the turbo clock or whatever but only runs like 3.5 when playing games will changing the cpu ratio do anything for this?
