Hello!

I have spent quite some time trying to make sure that this is going to be a good build and I am now about ready to start ordering my parts.

Here is the list:
http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/user/DannyBoi1986/saved/2mpG

I originally started with a budget of £800, which I have gone over slightly but no biggie, I can afford it.

I am new to pc building, I built one at Christmas which cost me about £250. It was just to keep me going and also a good first project for me. It has been a fab runner and my brother is looking forward to me passing it down.

It would be great if you guys could give me some input in regards to whether there may be improvements or incompatibilities.
I am also wanting it to be pretty quiet as my cheapo build at the moment is pretty loud when I am multi-tasking.

Thanks in advance for your time 😉

Hi Boosted1g,

Thanks alot for your input, I was considering having two hdd's as I am planning on recording game footage and was thinking I could set them up as raid if needed.

I like the look of the better ssd and ram though so I may consider changing those out as you have suggested. I was unsure at the time as to what ssd to choose as I am going to be mainly using it for my OS.

Hi again bud,

So, I have just given my debit card a good spanking and ordered your revised list. I done some research and it looks like I shouldn't need the two HDD's in raid. I now feel like a kid waiting for christmas.

Oh, I also had to order some parts from other suppliers other than Amazon as a few parts said to be despatched in 1-3 months, the jack-asses.

Thanks again for your input!

Erm, you kind of lost me there bud, I don't understand what you are saying.

As I said in OP, I am new to this so I would greatly appreciate it if you could dumb it down just a bit 😉

Thanks for commenting though, I am loving learning about all this.

OK, I have managed to cancel the order for the Ram.
I didn't realise there was a problem with things like that and seeing as I only ordered it last night I don't mind swapping it out.

Would you be able to point me in the right direction for some Ram that would be suitable?

Thanks again for you help boosted1g and Outlander_04!

Ha ha, I am such a noob, need to read descriptions eh 😉

I have had a look around as the link you gave me was for the US (I am in the UK) and I have now just ordered this:
http://www.ebuyer.com/248846-corsair-8gb-ddr3-1600mhz-vengeance-memory-cmz8gx3m2a1600c9

It is a couple of quid cheaper and I got free delivery hence choosing it. It has the same speed and voltage, same 2 x 4GB and the reviews are good (I mean, it's Corsair so should be ok)

I am pretty sure it will be good but I may still get you to help me to ensure I have it running at 1600 as when I was looking about I noticed some Ram cards work at a lower rate (like 1300 if my memory serves me) out of the box.

Thanks again bud, hopefully this time next week I will be replying to this thread on my new rig 😉

No problem buddy, you have been a massive help and I appreciate it, if I could, I would email you a beer 😉

So there is nothing for me to do now but to wait for all the parts, I will let you know how I get on once I get it up and running.

Ha ha, prefer a good draught or a nice dark ale myself but the 'cold' business, I think that is or at least should be the world over!
