Amd fx 8350 + gtx 1060 6gb bottleneck?

Even at 4.2ghz an FX 8350 would lose to say an i3 7100 in games. It's like a 6yr old architecture with poor single threaded performance.

I used that very processor at that clock speed with a different gpu, but yes it will run slower than say even a 2600k in modern games. Its not a horrible cpu and will play those games, but you won't get the full potential of the gpu to shine. If you are able to run your games at the fps for your monitor and don't have any stuttering issues then I would pass on an upgrade until later especially with the cost of ram.

The IPC of those FX cores were not as robust as the IPC of similar gen. Intel cores. It is where they fall short of juice to keep up with the recent cards.

More powerful compared to the 1060 3gb, but if you can get it cheaper than the 1060, then it should be fine.
