Hi Gents
I'm after a bit of advice please. Let's get my spec out the way... New Build AMD 8350 4.0ghz , coolermaster liquid 240, Gigabyte 990x gaming sli MB,16gb DDR3, MSI 960gtx 4gb. All standard no OC yet...
The problem I'm seeing is that my CPU temp from the bios is fluctuating +10 -10 every second and my multiplier is changing along with the speed. I've tried with the stock cooler and applied different paste but to no avail. The system does run fine under load with max temp of 62c and the temp seems to only changed +1 -1 momentarily then when idle it's hay wire. Spoken with the shop a few times regarding this and they say it is the temp sensor on the MB that is not reading correctly and apperentley all the sli range are the same. Question is am I to accept this as it stands, I can't OC because I don't know what boundaries I can go too with the inaccurate readings. Any ideas what I should do? Don't want to update again as the 990 chipset is probably the best before a whole new Rizen setup. Should I ask for a replacment MB that may do the same? or do I put up with it without a OC. I know it will be playing on my mind as I'm already checking the CPUID program all the time. Help!
