Amd fx 8350 vs intel i7 4770k

Hello, I would like some help with somebody who preferably has experience with both these processors and isn't bias towards either brand, I understand that raw cpu power the 4770k comes out on top, I'm mostly just upgrading for gaming so that's not much of a big deal, I plan on buying dual gtx 770's to go with one of these cpu's. What I'm trying to figure out is that how much better is the 4770k at gaming, especially with poorly multithreaded games such as world of warcraft, from what I've heard people were getting much lower fps due to amd's weaker single core performance, Is amd a good contender for someone who wants extremely high fps in a wide array of games, If it will do just find I'd rather save the money and buy the cheaper cpu.

looking backwards, the intel cpu is vastly superior. any game that uses under 4 threads will always run much better with the intel cpu.

looking forward, whole new world. amd has 8 core processors in both the x86 based consoles and new games are looking like they will utilize em.

what you describe would have me definitely suggest the intel cpu

First, why do you get dual GTX770 for WOW ? It`s so useless .... second, if you want to play MMORPGs like WOW/Lineage2/Guild Wars or RTS Starcraft 2, as much as i love AMD, Intel is the CPU to go here. For the rest i don`t believe there will be any noticeable performance differences, the Intel platform will do better but at almost double the price.

The short answer as to whether AMD is a good contender for someone who wants extremely high fps in a wide array of games is no.
Try google for reviews of the FX 8350 chip.
In several places it is said that it is just not competetive compared to Intel.

zzz you need just a gtx 760 or r7 270x to games those (WOW...... MMORPGs games) as for cpu i5 4570k is more than enough. but for your question, i7 4770k is stronger than fx 8350 in those games.

The fx8350 cannot keep up with 2 770s, i have a 780ti and a bottleneck... 2 770s is more powerful, so the 4770k is the answer

An i5 4670K would be more than enough for what you've outlined. Also a single 780 would make more sense than 2 770's, IMO. Many games don't fully utilise SLI/Xfire so you may end up with more than a headache than what it's worth.

But as has already been said, for your usage you definitely want intel's stronger single core performance.

With an i5 4570, b85 pro4, the money saved could probably get them a 780ti. Normally I would say 1230v3, but those particular games wouldn't make use of hyperthreading.

i5-4570 or i5-4670 + GTX 780 or GTX 780ti get's my votes here in this situation!
