Will AMD FX-8370 with AMD Wraith cooler Vishera 8-Core 4.0 GHz (4.3 GHz Turbo) Socket AM3+ 125W run on a MSI 760 GM-P34 (FX) motherboard?

Solution
You can only put a Ryzen processor into the AM4 socket, no AM3(+) compatibility in there.

That PSU is pretty cheap looking, I'm not sure if I'd trust it with high end hardware.

If you are gaming I would swap out that GT 730

What is your budget? If you don't have a whole lot right now, I suggest saving up and doing the upgrade a year or so down the line.

This is true. Even a Ryzen 5 1400 will be a bit better if you're buying new, while costing the same, commanding a cheaper motherboard (FX 8 cores SHOULD have the more enthusiast level boards, which can run you around $125 for a proper one) draws less power, doesn't need beefy cooling to run comfortably, and will probably have better game support as it's recent stuff, yo.

Thank you! We are likely to go with the AMD RYZEN 5 1600X 6-Core 3.6 GHz (4.0 GHz Turbo) Socket AM4 95W YD160XBCAEWOF Desktop Processor. We'll have to upgrade the motherboard at a later time. Do you think there would be anything else that would need to be upgraded immediately with this processor? It has the GT 730, with 8GB's of RAM and a 931GB Hard Drive and and an Allied Atx 350w PSU?

And for AM4/Ryzen, you also need DDR4 memory.

Additionally, you will need to source your own heatsink for the 1600X as none is included with it. The 1600 (non-X) is the better value as it trivially overclocks just as good as the 1600X and can get most of the way there using the stock HSF.
