Will an AMD FX-9590 Vishera 8-Core Processor with an AM3+ socket work with my computer? I know the socket is correct but on the page for the processor is says it is only compatible with the 990FX motherboards.

I'm working on making a beefy computer and just kinda gathering a shopping list so I know how much I need to save up. I already have my current computer as linked below that I already upgraded with a 750ti. I plan on upgrading to a 980ti and getting an 8 core processor and wasn't sure if this one would work.

Also, if it is compatible, what cooler would be recommended for the CPU?

Solution
No. Only a very limited number of motherboards support the 9590. It is a 200W CPU. It needs the 990FX to support the power requirements. It also recommends a 1000W power supply and an H100 or larger closed loop cooler.

Responding to the cooler inquiry, go with a Lepa--aesthetically pleasing and extremely quiet.

It keeps my AMD FX9590, overclocked from 4.7 to 5.2GHz frigid, somehow.
