Hello!

1. Would a AMD FX 9590 Octa Core work on a GA-78LMT-S2P? If not, what motherboard would i need?

2. Does FX 9590 works well with GTX 970?

3. I'm actually using a FX-6100, would it be a great upgrade?

4. Will it heat more than my current processor?

5. If FX 9590 is not worth it, which AMD processor should i get? (I cant get an I5 because it is overtaxed on the country i live on and because i would need to buy a new RAM and a new motherboard)

Thanks!

no, it is a poor quality motherboard not suitable for a FX-6 let alone any FX-8 or 9.

You will need a 990FX based motherboard.
A FX-9590 is a poor buy on two counts:
1. It is essentially a binned FX-8350 and you can oc a good FX-8350 to the same levels yourself.

2. Even then a similarly priced skylake quad will outperform it in games.

Your fx-6100 has a passmark rating of 5395 and a single thread rating of 1182.
The $220 fx-9590 has an impressive passmark rating of 10266 when all 8 cores are in use, but the single thread rating is more important for gaming, and that is just 1722.
By comparison, the $240 I5-6600K has a passmark rating of 7796 and a...
1. No, only a few motherboards will support a 220w cpu.
2. Depends on the game, resolution and refresh rate as there are a few scenarios where it can bottleneck the gpu.
3. Bulldozer based cpus were poor so a piledriver cpuy would be a decent upgrade.
4. 220w cpus create alot of heat and require a massive cooler.
5. With that motherboard I suggest avoiding the 125w cpus, the boardf uses weak vrms and throttling issues a common with the 125w cpus.
6. see above.
The best cpus for that board are the 8320e and the 8370e since they use less power than the non e versions.

You can get 30% more via overclocking.

To help clarify your CPU/GPU options, run these two tests:

a) Run YOUR games, but lower your resolution and eye candy.
If your FPS increases, it indicates that your cpu is strong enough to drive a better graphics configuration.
If your FPS stays the same, you are likely more cpu limited.

b) Limit your cpu, either by reducing the OC, or, in windows power management, limit the maximum cpu% to something like 70%.
Go to control panel/power options/change plan settings/change advanced power settings/processor power management/maximum processor state/
This will simulate what a lack of cpu power will do.
Conversely what a 30% improvement in core speed might do.

You should also experiment with removing one core. You can do this in the windows msconfig boot advanced options option. You will need to reboot for the change to take effect. Set the number of processors to less than you have.
This will tell you how sensitive your games are to the benefits of many cores.

If your FPS drops significantly, it is an indicator that your cpu is the limiting factor, and a cpu upgrade is in order.

It is possible that both tests are positive, indicating that you have a well balanced system, and both cpu and gpu need to be upgraded to get better gaming FPS.

Warning: This power draw of this CPU is almost twice that of the average CPU. Due to this, AMD recommends using at minimum a 850W to 1000W power supply. For cooling, AMD recommends using either either closed loop liquid cooling , h100i minimum or full system liquid cooling.

Several motherboards on your list require special VRM cooling even for a 125W CPU; they will most likely throttle a FX-9590 CPU.
