So i wanted to upgrade my graphics card
(AMD Radeon HD 7700 Series) with the GeForce 970 but i saw that the GeForce 1080 would be in the same price range as the 970.
So im wondering if my processor can hangle the 1080?And im sorry if there were any gramatical errors.

Solution
I'd say it depends on the games you want to play. In DX12 the FX 6300 isn't such a bad gaming processor (as DX12 can make use of the cores). DX11 games it'll be a bottleneck though.

Processors wise for $200 I'd guess your looking at a haswell i5 (Intel 4XXX series parts). They are pretty solid gaming processors with good single thread performance so a fairly safe bet all round.

Also worth mentioning- AMD are releasing their new ZEN processors later this year, might be worth waiting for them if you can hold on (actually on that basis I'd be tempted to upgrade the gpu soon and then get cpu / mobo later- even if you want to go Intel if Zen is any good at all it should really help bring prices down). Another point- AMD are officially...

First of all thanks for the swift reply and can you then recommend some CPU's that are good and hopefully around 200$.I could maybe go over budget.

Your processor still can handle that..

You still experience a massive boost from 7770 to highest end pascal.

Bottleneck..?
Maybe..but how much..?
10%-15% at most, compared with highest end skylake available..

But it's still much-much faster than if you upgrade your processor, but still with 7770..

why people so worry with bottleneck..?

Another point- AMD are officially unveiling their Polaris gpu on the 27th of May (with it available in June to compete with the 1080 / 1070 cards). All the comments from AMD say they are going to be selling Polaris for a really competitive price although apparently it's not as powerful a gpu as the 1080. Might be worth having a look at though.

Solution

I could probably go to 250$ currently and im more worried about buying something that i can't use.
Also thanks for the reply.

Well i currently want to upgrade cuz of the new Battlefield.Currently im running Black ops 3 on low and im still getting fps drops.I will wait it out then and thanks for the reply.

Hey there, I'm in same boat as you but i have a 7870 instead of 7770. I'd recommend getting the gpu first as you can overclock the 6300 to remove some of the bottleneck. buy a hyper 212 cooler and oc your processor when you buy the new gpu as the current chip is quite good overclocker. It'll hold till amd releases their new processors then compare them with intel if they are good enough then choose any side.

Long story short buy the gpu first and then upgrade the cpu (that's what i'm gonna do :) )

Don't get the gtx 1070 or 1080 if you have a cpu that slow. The bollteneck will be severe, and will ultimately run it about as fast as a gtx 970. If you have a budget that low, get a nice 900 series or an amd 200/300 card. They are great in performance and will last you a bit of time. Not even the 6 cores will save you, those cores are extremely slow and even if all of them are used it will still only perform to about the same speed as the i5 2300.
