Ive got a AMD FX 4130 Quad Core 3.8Ghz with a new GTX 750ti SC with 16GB of Corsair Vengence memory on am MSI 760GM-P34 (FX) AM3+ Micro ATX AMD Motherboard. My
problem is that it overheats. Playing Fallout 4 it overheats and shuts down. The same thing happens when I stream Netflix. It hits between 17-25C at idle (2-6% load) and under about a
25-30% load it just gradually goes up until it hits about 85C and pc just turns off, no warning, no going to sleep or a throttle back, nothing. I want to underclock it but I feel I shouldn't have to
in addition to not having found a decent enough guide to do that as Im kind of a noob at system upgrading. Ive opened it up. No dust as its less than 6mo old. Wires are hidden and not impeding air flow. My BIOS is up to date in addition to all of my system drivers. I did a clean system install on a new WD Black HDD with only essential software installed like Win 8.1, Speedfan, Wifi software, etc, so it cant be a virus. Ive tried default and optimized BIOS settings. The 750ti is two weeks old and replaced the factory GeForce GT 610. My heating issues began when I put in the 750. Thats when Netflix streaming and gameplay began heating my cpu.
I run Fallout 4 beautifully on med in game graphics settings and standard gpu settings but at high temps. With that said I have Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO and 4 cpu fans on order. Ill be putting those in along with a better PSU....but I still think it should not be doing this.
Im looking for direction on where the problem might be and a confirmation that my components are compatible. Im hoping its as simple as better cooling and not a BIOS problem.
*all fans are working
*no dust in case (new PC)
*plenty of air circ around pc
*BIOS and drivers are updated
*set cpu fans lvls all to 100%
*no system errors or warnings
*crash logs just show improper system shutdown
