AMD FX6100, Gigabyte GA-78LMT-S2P and Asus Nvidia GeForce GTX 760 DirectCU II OC 2GB GDDR5 Graphics Card?

Hi, I have a Gigabyte GA-78LMT-S2P motherboard and an AMD FX6100 processor, and I'm wanting to buy a new graphics card. I had the Asus Nvidia GeForce GTX 760 DirectCU II OC 2GB GDDR5 Graphics Card in mind and was wondering if my other parts are compatible. I have a 750W powersupply but I don't know what specific model, if anyone has any software that could tell me, that would be appreciated.

It is compatible, as long as your PCI slot is not taken up by something else. I am pretty sure there is not software that could tell you, but if it is a good brand then it is fine. It depends if it was custom built or not. If you check on the PSU if it was custom built, then I think it should be on there. Otherwise, you are good to go!

I've done some research and found that the AMD R9 290 actually performs better and is around the same price. Will that be ok?

No problem, we have all been there before. I am pretty sure that the 6 pin or 8 pin is for the PSU. The PSU should have a cable with a 6pin or a 8 pin power connector. You fit that into the graphics card, (there is an obvious spot to put it in), and then you are good to go.
