AMD FX6300 and Gigabyte Angelica2 Motherboard (HP H8-1534 model) compatibility

Solution
How would a PSU cause beeping? The MB monitors voltage if it drops below a specified value the Bios lets you know. How do you flash the Bios? You need a CPU that will boot up.

Test your PSU first you can do this with a Multimeter fairly easy, I have a plug in unit that does it for me.

If your all good here then plug in that new board just don't mount it. Place it over a anti static bag and just make sure you have at least one ground set, a piece of wire to the frame and to a mounting screw holes works or use a double ended roach clip. From here just plug everything in and see if it posts. Test the old and new CPU don't worry about the CPU heat sink you...

The previous processor is an FX 6200 with a TDP of 125w and the FX 6300 has a TDP of 95w. The difference between the two is the 6200 has 6 cores and I think I fried it with too much heat buildup. The 6300 has 8 cores and I was going to try to replace the 6200 with the 6300.

Correction: I read the box wrong, the 6300 has 6 cores also.

Difference between the two processors is clock-speed. Same socket, architecture, and same amount of cores. Both have 6 cores.

Ok, I just replaced it and buttoned everything up but am still getting 6 beeps and the computer will not start up. Could this be a mother board problem?

These are old Standered beep codes.

Motherboard supports the following processor upgrades:
Processor

FX-4100 (Zambezi)
FX-6100 (Zambezi)
FX-6120 (Zambezi)
FX-6200 (Zambezi)
FX-8100 (Zambezi)
FX-8120 (Zambezi)
FX-8150 (Zambezi)
All of the Above with Stock Bios.

FX-83XX, FX-63XX (Zambezi) "with Bios update"

I doubt your old CPU is bad, and I don't know what your current Bios version is so I can't say they New CPU will work but it is possible the MB or PSU has gone south on you. The beep codes don't match the issue, 6 beeps normally is a bad.

Ok, so the fx-6300 will work with a Bios update. How do I update the bios when the computer will not start up? The video card does not come on and the computer just beeps 6 times, then the power light and indicator lights are solid, but no video at all.... just a black screen. I ordered a new motherboard, but the case only will hold a 9.6 x 9.6 inch MB and the one I got is too big.... my bad on not checking the dimensions first. So assuming the motherboard and cpu are ok, how would the power supply unit cause the beeping? Maybe it would be worth trying to replace the power supply? By the way, you ended your sentence saying that 6 beeps is normally a bad ??? A bad what?

My last post got completely Fubared It didnt take the edit where I added all the beep codes :p 6 beeps normally is a bad Keyboard only if your using the PS/2 port.
