Hello I have recently built a pc with fx6300 as cpu and when i checked temps with stock cooler at idle they were around 20 but when i started installing programs and moving-extracting files ...it went to 75c and after that it shuted down...I know that the stock cooler is not that good but is it really that bad?? or have i done something wrong?? cause i am pretty sure i installed it correctly.thank you

it should not be that bad unless you have overclocked the cpu then the stock cooler would not handle the heat, the only other thing would be if its not seated correctly or too much thermal paste applied so you can try re-seating it with just a small amount of thermal paste applied and make sure its on stock settings and try again

I don't think you installed it wrong, AMD stock coolers are quiet poor
FX6300 Max temperature (°C) 72.72 Higher power consumption 95W

if CPU goes above this temp the CPU normally slows dwn before it shuts dwn completly.
I would buy a new CPU cooler and check the mobo temps for the correct CPU temp (more reliable)
should have temps over 60°C
But remember that CPU's running at 100% will increase in temp very rapidly ( so choose the games you play wisely).
Good luck

Helloo .. The thermal paste was already applied and now the idle temps show 13c...which is kinda crazy cause room temp is 20.also it's not overclocked and with hwmonitor shows 13 idle and 45c max with prime95 test but in bios they are around 30c.Which is more reliable?

I have the same processor and it sounds like your heat sink did not get placed on correctly if you do have to take off your heatsink, clean it up and reapply another thermal paste material AMD processors also don't reliably show correct temperatures below 45 degrees give or take. my proc throttles when the VRMs get to 63 degrees.

Think about it logically. AMD would not ship a hsf that would allow the cpu to overheat and shutdown under NORMAL use. He has an issue. Whether he mounted the hsf wrong or has poor airflow in his case. I have a 6300 with a GA-990 FXA UD3 overclocked to 4.4 GHz with the stock cooler. Is the sock cooler a Noctua or even a Hyper 212 EVO? No it isn't. But it is fine for normal use without a heavy overclock.

Afraid to say your motherboard is very weak. Poor vrm's that tend to overheat and throttle the six and 8 core FX cpu's.
