AMD FX6300 Max Overclock?

Currently I am at 4.4ghz stable. I want to try more, but i'm afraid. I have very sufficient cooling and even room for more fans. Specs:
Asus M5A78LM +
Galaxy GeForce GTX 670
12GB Corsair Vengeance 1600mhz ram
680 watt power supply
AMD FX 6300

If you need more information, just ask.
My core temps are not in a bad range, idle is 20, max is 50 (playing BF4)
I rarely reach 50.

You have done enough, why do you need more ? Anyways I think you will need better cooling options, though I don't know what you have right now.

And it will also depend on the quality of the PSU. 680W usually be enough but for a decent brand.

BTW, every chip is different so it may not OC successfully over your current state, beware of that.

Just want to be aware of the max power you can pull out of this processor. Thanks for the help though, I'll stay at either 4.4 or 4.5

You could damage the CPU by over experimenting with it. Stay in a safe zone. Good luck.

I clock my AMD FX-6300s to 4.5GHz. That's usually what I am comfortable with. I have seen some clocked at 5GHz as well though.

i am currently running at 4.5ghz at 1.44v cpu-nb 1.29 to stabilize the RAM overclocked zalman 7500 cpu cooler
plenty of fans for case. I stay under 60c after playing for hours of intensive game play and benchmarks.
I have noticed if I run a stability test I hear a loud chirping noise coming from CPU or the fan. only one problem is that the fan is running 100%
all the time and only make that noise when its under a load lol

I clock my AMD FX-6300s to 4.5GHz. That's usually what I am comfortable with. I have seen some clocked at 5GHz as well though.

what is your voltage set at or running with 4.5ghz oc

I run 4.4GHZ at 1.4v. Had problems trying to reach 4.7 and had to come back down.

Your motherboard doesn't have VRM cooling and only 3+1 power phase. You'd be wise to stop where you're at (and I'm amazed you got it as high as you did).

I have overclocked my fx 6300 to 4.9-5.1ghz anything higher is not safe but presonaly i think 4.4 ghz is more than enough i usualy use just the base 3.6ghz or if i need fast 4.0ghz

My max overclock on my fx-6300 with an msi 990fxa board and a cosair h55 with double high static pressure fans in push pull, i never exceed 49c. my overclock is 4.8Ghz, and that is a 24/7 overclock that is 100% stable.
