[SOLVED] Amd fx8120 high temperatures

I recently changed my motherboard and cpu (both used not new) after installing windows I installed program to check the temperatures and when idle nothing installed yet or running the amd cpu was at 50-60c and after doing a search these are not the temps that it should be running at, I also installed a game to see the temps and while gaming they where at 75-85c, anyone know a fix for this as the temperatures are way higher than they should be and cooking my processor up.

Amd fx8120
Msi 970 motherboard
And cpu cooler is artic freezer xtreme

proper connection bettween the cooler and cpu? did you add thermal paste? Also how is the case airflow and any overclocking? the fx series is know to run hot but shouldnt be idling that high.

FX temperature monitoring is odd.

Download AMD overdrive and see what the thermal margin is reported as.

This the Black Edition ? If so they run really hot but I would remove, clean cooler and cpu, and then remount the cooler with some good quality thermal paste as a precaution.
