AMD FX8150 throttling issues when new CPU fan installed

So I've had an FX8150 for a long time now using the stock cooler, with this cooler the CPU would usually throttle itself at around 75 degrees which I was fine with.

A couple of day ago in installed a new cooler, Deepcool GAMMAX 300. THIS WAS THE ONLY CHANGE MADE TO MY COMPUTER SINCE THE ISSUE STARTED. Now I have been experiencing the same level of CPU throttling when my CPU hits around 45 degrees. This strikes me as VERY odd as 45 degrees is very cool for a CPU.

My motherboard is an Asus m5a78l-m with the american megatrends BIOS. I've changed just about every setting possible in the BIOS to try and prevent the issue, but there are no direct options that allow me to disable thermal throttling on the CPU.

Help is much appreciated I really am at my wits end with this issue! Thanks in advanced!

Windows6.1-KB2646060-v3-x64 , Windows6.1-KB2645594-x64 install them both has to be in a certain order cant remember which way but try one if is says not applicable try the other then the other one will install after if you know what i mean lol :)

The clock multiplier goes from 20.5x (on CPUID) to 7.0x until it reaches around 30 degrees then goes back to normal

is this under stress (ie prime95) it is normal for clocks to jump around during prime

I have updated the BIOS and reset it.

My CPU is currently overclocked but the same thing happens even when the CPU is at it's normal clock.

The main thing that's worrying me, is why the temperature at which the CPU throttles has changed when all I did was change the fan. Is there anyway to change this temperature?

This is under stress

Sorry if this is a dumb question, but whats are 'vrms'?

why disable all power saving features? make their chip run hotter?

Something is probably wrong with the way you put the thermal paste on or it's clamped down. If you changed the cooler and things aren't working, the cooler is the problem, not BIOS settings.

Don't know why someone would say, change this and that, when the only thing you changed was the cooler, then the cooler is the issue in one way or another.

What are the motherboard temps? Run openhardwaremoitor and check the MB temps, which will give you the socket temp and the vrm temps usually.

My motherboard temp monitors don't seem to work. All 3 are fixed at constant values

i have the fx6300 and oc'd to 4.4ghz with the hyper 212 evo,, i was having this issue so i disabled all power saving options and unparked all cores and i was golden theres 2 updates microsoft put out for the fx chips to unpark cores which is another power saving thing i also did that and had no problems since hope this helps :)
