I want to upgrade to the FX8350, and it says that my board has the AM3+ connectors, so are they good? Is it that simple? I also have a GTX 660 and a 700W PSU if either of those may be problematic.
I think some people have managed to get that CPU working with that motherboard even though the 8350 isn't in the support list and that motherboard has horrible power delivery and can only support CPU's with a max TDP of 95w. I wouldn't even attempt it with that board, you would likely kill it eventually.
check the revision of the motherboard. if it's 1.0 or 1.1. maximum suported cpu is FX-6300 with a bios update. if it's 1.2, FX-8320E or 8370E with a newer bios update. be sure you update bios first.
I am using this Motherboard to run my 1100T at 3815.64Ghz using Bus Sped 211.98 and x18 Multiplier(4-18.5).. In CPU-Z and Ram @1695.8Mhz and NB and HT both at 2331.8Mhz.
CPU power draw as per CPU-Z = Max TDB 1.26 and Core VID 1.350v
All I have done extra is removing headsink and applied better thermal paste.
Conclusion, Yes It can run FX8350 if you have version 1.2 as i am using 1.2

for anyone who may find this useful, I have this motherboard with an FX 8120 processor and it works. The CPU is just powered down to keep the board from burning up. I even flashed the bios with the latest version available for the board and it never got stable above 2.8 Ghz. the board will always cap @ 2.8 Ghz. but it can use any am3 or am3+ processor.
you will need another board if you want the full potential on an FX based processor.
