On AMD gaming evolved what is in-game overlay and tracking gameplay ?

While we're on the subject, how come the app won't start up on it's own when the box for start up when Windows start up?

The Gaming Evolved in-game overlay lets you browse the web and your email, see what your friends are playing and chat with them, can take and edit screenshots, livestream to Twitch, and much more, all without leaving your game. The game in AMD app, it is the "Track game play statistics", under Prefrences -> Games. Of course you'll have to turn this option back on to be able for Raptr to track your games, though it makes wonder what this app could be doing in the background that it could crash the game, even with the overlay turned off.
