AMD Graphics Card Persistent Code 43 Error

Hello.

So here's my Asus laptop's specs -
Model: Asus X555DG
Processor: AMD A10-8700 Radeon R6, 10 Compute Cores 4C + 6G
12 GB of Ram
Windows 10

(Its vague, sorry.. I'll find more on my specs if needed)

I've had an issue with my graphics card since May of this year I believe, it's been so long since it started I can't really pinpoint when exactly.

The problem is a code 43 on both of my graphics cards (Apparently, in device manager theres two. An AMD Radeon R6 M340DX and AMD Radeon R6 Graphics). The device status has said the same thing for months now, regardless of any kind of troubleshoot or repair I try to do -- Windows has stopped this device because it reported problems. Before I list things I've done to try to fix it, heres what could have caused it. A few days before the problem came about I had brought my laptop to class. When I came back home with it, I do remember dropping it in my bag on to the ground sort of hard. Although I highly doubt that's what's caused the problem, it's the only event that might have caused something to happen hardware-wise. Another reason for it occuring (and what I think really caused this) is that a day or so before the cards stopped working I downloaded driver update software. In an attempt to get my laptop to run games faster, (atleast before my ram shipment came) I decided to update some drivers for my graphics cards and other miscellaneous things on my pc. The updates to my drivers went smoothly, with no problems (The software I used to do it was Driver Booster 5). A day later my problem begin as I was trying to boot a game. I had gotten an error pop up saying that I could not run the game because I didn't have sufficient resources to run the game. Eventually, after some hours of researching and looking around I figured out the cards gave a code 43 error. Code 43 being one of the most ambiguous errors there are (The only information given to you being that theres a problem), I've struggled to fix it for quite some time now.

I've tried:
Uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers. I've done this in multiple ways. I've done it the normal way, by doing it in device manager; using a plethora of different driver software to do it; going to safe mode > advanced settings > startup settings > f7 to disable driver signature enforcement > actually going to safe mode > uninstalling drivers > reinstalling drivers out of safe mode. (I got the last method from a website)

Rolling back the drivers. I've tried rolling back recently, I only managed to roll back to a version from June of this year manually through device manager. Using driver software I could roll back further, but I need to purchase a license key to get Pro for all of them.

Uninstalling and reinstalling other drivers like the one for the bus is something I plan to do, but havent gotten to doing it.

Restoring is a way of fixing it that I'm pretty sure is guaranteed to work, but I'm not prepared to restore since I'm not sure how to back up, etc.

Troubleshooting through control panel on Windows for hardware and sound, which obviously didn't detect a thing.

I tried taking a front off of my laptop to get inside. When I did I cleaned the fan some. Although I didn't take the card out of its slot since its out of my league to do, nothing seemed to be out of order with it.

Nothing I have done has changed anything whatsoever. After months of researching this issue I've found that others with the same issue have some problem where their resolution and video quality worsens, but I have not had that issue. The only problem this issue has caused is the inability to play games on steam and the like. Whenever I play any game at all (If I can even run it) my CPU goes up to 100% since the entire load is on it alone. No other symptom than the inability to play games is what I have.

Shouldve mentioned this earlier -- the cards have a yellow yield sign on them in device manager.

Any response would be greatly, GREATLY appreciated. At this point I'm desperate for a fix. Once again, any response would help greatly. This issue has left me distraught.

Thank you.

Probably something goes wrong (hardware wise) when you drop it. If this is dekstop pc you can remove the GPU and reseat them. Code 43 most often the device cannof detect the hardware properly due to certain issue (can also be sofrware related). In the past my GTX660 SLI also have this kind of issue if i play around the SLI setting in control panel. Lucky for me reinstalling drivers will put everthing back to normal. In your case you might need proper examination from repair shops or manufacturer support staff (if you still within your warranty period) since laptop parts are more complicated than dekstop pc that is more "modular" in design.

Hi,
I got the same problem. I have HP ab054ng with AMD CPU A10 8700P and AMD R7-365 dedicated GPU. I updated windows 10 to 18.03 version in May-2018 and since then I am having AMD graphics driver issue with code-43. I tried several techniques but none worked. Then in Aug-Sep-2018 I tried to force install factory provided AMD drivers of year 2015 and it worked but if I update to latest drivers drivers I still get code-43 error.

Did you get your problem solved and how if solved?
