Hello there!

I'm trying to set up a double monitor system on Windows 10. My two monitors can only connect through VGA. I enabled surround view on the BIOS and Window's device manager detects both the HD6870 and the integrated HD4250, but only the main monitor on the HD6870 is activated. CCC only detects the HD6870. My motherboard is an Asus M4A88T-V EVO.

The surround view solution used to work on most Linux distributions I've tried but not on Windows, so the computer is indeed sending a signal, and it is a software problem. Unfortunately I am not going to purchase a new monitor and using a different cable setup is not possible. Also, using the rest of the ports in my HD6870 is not possible due to my monitors only accepting VGA.

I would love some help from you guys! Thanks in advance.

Hey, thanks for the quick answer. My HD6870 has a Dual-Link DVI port and a DVI-D port. I am using the Dual-Link DVI port with a DVI - VGA adaptor to connect to the main monitor. But my monitors only accept analog signals so I can't use the other DVI port (which is DVI-D, digital-only as far as I know). So I am forced to use the integrated graphics for a double monitor setup.

Also, Crimson fails to start, it says that my system is not compatible and starts CCC instead.

Do you think there's any way to solve the problem through any kind of driver installation? That is, using both the discrete and the integrated graphics cards. It works on Linux so I was hoping there'd be a way to make Windows do it too.

I agree I'll buy an active adapter if all else fails.

Also looking at your motherboard on the ASUS website, it specifically states hybrid crossfireX support so this may well work as I suggested:
