I don't think profits even need to hurt. AMD can sell more chips than it can produce. And keeping China supplied at the expense of other markets hurts the brand image in those other markets.

Yeah. The recent Chinese aggression should rather make investors doubt such decisions. You never know when your assets get "nationalized"
