AMD K6-2/500 reads K6-2/150 on startup

Someone gave me a PC that lists itself as K6-2/150 when booting up.
However, the CPU is K6-2/500mhz (I looked at it). Unfortunately, this
seems to be a no-name motherboard, and I have no docs on the board. Is
it possible that a multiplier jumper might be incorrectly set? Anybody
have any ideas? Seems to work okay, but shouldn't it be booting up
listing the correct CPU speed? Is there anything else I can check?
Thanks for any insights into this!

Go here and download the Home Edition and set it up on the computer and it
will tell you everything you need to know plus give you links to the
manufacturers.

You can write down the BIOS string at boot-up, and search for the
motherboard online from that. You can then find a manual, and it should
tell you which jumpers to set on the motherboard for the multiplier and FSB.
