It beats the 9800GT hands down but it also consumes a lot more power; $50~$70 a year worth. I don't know why ATI won't incorporate 4670 power saving technology into 4830.

awww....the review could be by monday or tuesday.
anyways, from guru3d it shows very similar performance to 9800GT.
what's missing there is the crysis comparison between this 4830 and 9800GT, but i guess it could be 1 to 3 frame advantage by the 4830.
yet, 9800GT is cheaper since it is around $100.

According to Anandtech's (updated) test, 4830 consumes 17.8w/hr. more than 9800GT at idle and 38.2w/hr. at load.

17.8*24*365=155928=$31 at $0.20/kwh

My $50~$70 was from the old review before ATI released a matured BIOS and Anandtech updated their test.

BTW, check and update your 4830's BIOS. ATI's earlier BIOS only enabled 560 SPs rather than the full the 640 SPs in the spec.

AMD released this on the cheap? Not on this side of the pond! Gap from 4670 to 4830 is >€50, but can be less than €15 between the 4830 and 4850. Not such good value - my guess is that e-tailers are trying to shift old stock and the 4830s getting shafted in the process.
Oh, and sorry for any typos - comment box is broken!
