Looking to run games like Skyrim and BF4 on settings better than console ones, so these components were recomended to me. I hear this is a pretty solid setup able to play on the higher spectrum of settings. However, since this is a budget build, the i3 is pretty expensive - the current price being $120. Can someone suggest me an AMD motherboard $50-70? Thanks.

the memory you have selected is server memory, and will not work in a desktop. I don't know what your budget it, but look at the build i posted above. you cannot do better for $600 then that one.

Originally, I was going to use an ASRock FM2A88X PRO3+ Socket FM2+ 95W / FM2 (motherboard) and G.Skill Ripjaws Series F3-12800CL9D-4GBRL 4GB (2 x 2GB) DDR3 1600MHz (memory). However, this motherboard does not have the best reviews.

My targeted budget is $450

ASRock FM2A78M-HD+

price range 50-60$

Asus
A88X-PLUS

50-70$

look at this

never EVER buy Asrock for the FM2/FM2+ platform. They make fine Intel motherboards, but those FM2+ boards will burn your house down. legit junk.

Gigabyte or AMD only, only a88x motherboards and only motherboards with heatsinks on the VRMs.

So would this be a good motherboard? Its a GIGABYTE GA-F2A88X-UP4 FM2+ / FM2 AMD A88X (Bolton D4) HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX AMD Motherboard.
