My buddy wants to have me build him a High-end gaming PC.. He is willing to pay up to $2000 (no more) for this thing... He loves MSI and AMD...
For the Processor he said he wanted it to be an AMD with 3.4 minimum...
For the RAM he wanted it anywhere up to 20gb .. He doesnt know anything about RAM speeds, but he is a gamer, so I would advise 1600 minimum.
For the Hard-drives he wanted (2) 1 TB drives -- I would go with WD Blue
For the Case he wanted it to glow BLUE and have a minimum of 4 HIGH POWER fans, and a window.
For the OS he is going with Windows 8.1 Pro
For the Videocard he just wants a high-end AMD card that will run the best-of-the-best games out right now.
For the Display he wants (2) 20" monitors so he can run them side-by-side for Dual-Monitor gaming.
He definitely wants an MSI motherboard.
He wants a Gaming Wireless Headset, and Mouse.
He wants a Backlit keyboard with a curve to it, for big hands, like the old Gateways used to have.

Extra Needed: High-Airflow Cooling Fans -- NO LIQUID COOLING

He wants this build to last him 4 years, and run the best of games at 60+ FPS...

So your friend wants everything including 2 monitor, keyboard, headset, mouse and pc to be under 2k ?

I'd suggest going Intel over AMD for the processor. Probably the i7 4790K will do him better than any AMD. However if he really wants the AMD then the FX-9590 would be his best bet.

For RAM go with 16GB of 1866Mhz of any brand. Preferably Corsair, G-Skills and HyperX.

I'd suggest just going a 2TB harddrive as that would be cheaper. And also add at least a 120GB of SSD for boot. This will make your PC a ton faster.

Case. That is really up to him.

As for the GPU. If he really want something that can last him 4 years. Get him a Nvidia GTX 2-way 970 SLI or a single GTX 980ti. No idea why he'd want a AMD card. But if he really wants an AMD card then the Radeon R9 295X2 would be his best choice.

Monitor just go anything he likes.

MSI motherboard would be the Z97 Gaming 9 ACK for the Intel side or the 970A SLI Krait Edition for the AMD side. Both are 2 top of the line board with more than enough features that will last him years down the road.

As for cooling, the Noctua NH-D14/Noctua NH-15 will do him well.

Keyboard mouse and headset. Well just anything that will fit the bill. I'd recommend mechanical keyboard for gaming and the best typing experience.
