Forgive me if I'm long winded. I just put together a new system...Here are the specs:

Antec Performance Plus 880 (430W)
Asus A7V333 w/Raid
AMD XP1800+
2x 256MB PC2700 DDR (Crucial Cas 2.5)
Vision Tek GeForce4 Ti 4600 128 MB
SB Live 5.1 X-Gamer
Cooler Master HHC-001 (Heat Pipe)
Artic Silver 3
2x Maxtor UATA 133 40GB configured in RAID 0
NEC 12x DVD
TDK 40/12/48 CD-RW
2x 80mm Antec fans in lower front
2x 80mm Antec fans in upper rear

Now my issue at hand.....
In the BIOS, I have the CPU Vcore set at 1.75V
However, the hardware monitor in the BIOS as well as the ASUS PCProbe software in windows, both show that the Vcore is operating at 1.80V....

1) Is this normal?
2) My MB and CPU temps are 31/51 idle and load goes up to about 57-59 on CPU.. Are these temps acceptable?...If not what do you suggest I do?

Any help would be greatly appreciated....

Thanx

As long as your system runs stable and doesn't lock-up or freeze that is fine. In fact with the higher core voltage, I'd overclock that sucker! With proper cooling of course. AMD's will run hotter than Intel cheaps, and those temps you have are very good actually, no worries at all. Normally if you're at or under 65C under load and everything is stable you'll be fine with an AMD chip!

As far as overclocking goes, it isnt really a big concern for me. My old box is a P3 667..So this is a big speed improvement for me. I am very happy where I am currently at....Besides, I would rather have stability than speed.

Thanx for the info about the temps though...I also conferred with the distributor who sold me the board and he said that if I'm worried about my current temps, I am going to give myself an ulcer.....

Well, there's nothing wrong with being a bit on the cautious side, is there???

Nothing to worry about at all. I own an Asus Cusl2 and I also get a 0.5 voltage discrepancy (+). But if I run V-Tuner on my Gigabyte Radeon the true voltage of 1.9 is show. The same is true for the the clock speed of the system. Standard bus speed is 100mhz, but for some reason the system is clocked @ 101mhz. Although the Bios states the cpu is running @850mhz, running any benchmarking programs it states 101mhz. It is just an Asus thing.

Your new hardware is out-of-date

Thanx for the input....I have also solved my temp concerns....its called Air Conditioning.....I dont use it all that much.....after letting it run all day in the house....my temps went way down on boot....and stayed at about 55C under load....I figure if I want any better, I'll need a bigger case with more fans....
I'm not ready for water cooling yet....

once again...thanx for the input

hey. i wouldnt depend on asusprobe if i were you. it sucks. get motherboard monitor instead.
