I built this PC about 7 months ago, on a budget. Up until November it was fine, until it started shutting itself off and placing a WHEA error in the System Events. The log says:

Event ID: 20
Component: AMD Northbridge
Error Source: Machine Check Exception
Error Type 11
Processor APIC ID: 0

I've already reported a fault with Novatech (where i purchased everything from), i sent it to them and they sent it to Gigabyte. 2 weeks later I have it back and have been told it has been fixed. Yet 2 days later it shuts down and gives me the same error in the logs. I'm just curious what it is that causes this error specifically?

System specs:
CPU: AMD FX-8350
Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-78LMT-USB3 6.0
RAM: 8Gb unbranded
GPU: Palit 1050Ti
Storage: 2 HDD (1Tb and 2Tb)

CPU is not overclocked, im using the stock cpu cooler amd gave me which was the wraith cooler, case allows good airflow

I've sent another customer support ticket, so I'm waiting for a reply for that

I bought the parts separately and built it myself. I checked and the description said it supported that CPU

You are correct, but it is as low as you could go. Try running the CPU at a lower frequency; it will draw less power and the system may be stable. That motherboard is fine with the FX-6350, but the FX-8350 may be a bit too much. A budget build should not be considered with a 125W CPU; it requires a very good motherboard.

I disabled the turbo core options in AMD Overdrive last night, and so far I haven't had an issue. If the same problem does occur I'll try lowering the frequency

Yeah, I should have asked around beforehand, but oh well. Fortunately this is the only problem so far.
