AMD & NVIDIA graphic cards to work together, an option?!

Hey everybody,
Someone offered me the following graphic card:

I have this graphic card installed on my PC:

Now, I once saw a video about SLI & CROSSFIRE in the same PC but that was 4 cards and each couple has their technology (a video by Linus Tech Tips through YouTube).

My question is if there's any way that I can use both graphic cards in my pc together?

I know it might be a weird question but I would love to get a normal explanation..

There's no way in hell, sorry. The R9 290 should be plenty on it's own though.

what are you trying to achieve? lol. If you want to upgrade your system, grab a second 760 and run SLI, or just the 290 on it's own.

No, sorry. SLI and Crossfire® are different in many ways and cannot be used together. FAQ about crossfire and SLI: http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/245454-33-crossfire-faqs If I were you I would sell the 290 for another 760. If you do that, they will blow the 290 out of the water. I say keep the 290, it's more than enough power for anyone atm. And it's better than two cards because you have no hassle with sli profiles.

Well if you want to use SLI or Crossfire, the game has to support it, otherwise it will only use one card. And your PC get's way hotter.

Well, the friend's comment here on top of you said something else.
So according to his comment getting 2 760 with 4GB will do better than 1 290 with 4GB.
So I'm really confused

There is also the problem with airflow. One of the cards (the one on top) will be suffocated by the other. If you want the best performance go with the 2x760s but if you want better stability go with the 290.

Well, the thing is, some games, e.g. FarCry 3, don't support 2 cards so you are only getting the performance out of one card. Water cooling is an option but it does void the warranty. So, in the end, it is up to you whether you want to take the risk of SLI 760s being unstable or the 290 which is more stable and probably won't see a difference in performance. I seemed to have convinced myself to go with the 290 but the 760s are an option.

Glad we could help, either way you'll have enough graphics power for a while .

Also, watercooling cards does not always void the warranty, some company's let you remove the heatsink within the warranty.
