AMD of i7 for Video editing?

Solution

Then go for:
CPU: AMD FX-8350,i7 4770K or i7 4790K
Motherboard: ASUS M5A99X EVO or M5A99FX PRO for the FX,Gigabyte GA-Z87X UD3H/UD5H for 4770K and Gigabyte Z97X UD3H/UD5H for...
i7 is a better option for editing.Why?
i7s have hyperthreading.Basically that means that Windows reads one core as two virtual core. That means if you're using an i7 4790K,a quad-core CPU,Windows will read it as 8-core CPU.This is very useful for video editing, rendering, live streaming etc.
You obviosly do that,so an i7 would be a far better choice.
Hope this helps. ;)

If you have the money and want good performance, design and video editting software are among the few that would benefit from the core count and muscle of Intel's Extreme series processors. If it were me, it would be a i7-4930k - hexcore w/ hyperthreading make it a multitasking animal and the Socket 2011 motherboard will give you much headroom on system memory capacity.

Unless you are looking for absolute bleeding edge performance, you should look at an AMD cpu. It will end up a about hundred dollars (or more) cheaper than an Intel setup. The current haswells are faster than the FX 8350 but you will have to decide on how much you want to spend for that performance. Check out the 4770k review to get an idea on what to expect: http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/core-i7-4770k-haswell-review,3521-14.html
