I am having trouble deciding on which CPU to get. I am wanting to get either the AMD Athalon 64 x2 4200 or the AMD Opteron 165 Denmark. I dont know if I plan on overclocking yet. Which one is a better cpu? Also its going to be used on a DFI LANPARTY UT nF4 Ultra-D Socket 939 NVIDIA nForce4 Ultra ATX AMD Motherboard.

The DFI board would be used the the opteron if I chose that one. But if i chose the 64 x2 4200 i would probably get another motherboard. And if i did go with the x2 4200 which motherboard should i get?

ASUS board would prolly be the best. But if I was you I would go with opty and DFI. You could get DFI with the 4200x2 and still be well off and OC that 4200 but DFI is a very solid board.

I have looked closely at the DFI board, and ATI's for my Opteron 175..
I bought the A8R-MVP and wisely chose to upgrade to the A8R32-MVP since I felt it slightly edged out DFI's, one area is in ease of overclocking, you do not have to be an engineer with a niche specialty in BIOS tuning to get great results.
Plus it is stable and has great overclocking potential.
