I think you got misled by the technical brief from a clueless vendor.

Like all Athlons 64 and even Sempr0ns 64, Opterons feature a total of 128KB L1 cache, 64KB for Instructions and 64KB for Data.

This is also true for dual core CPUs (Athlon 64 X2's and 165, 170, 175 & 180 Opterons), each individual core still feature the same 128KB of L1 cache.

It get messy when vendors start adding the L1 cache from each core, while it is true to say that a dual core CPUs house twice as much L1 cache as a single core CPU, each individual core in a dual core CPU do house as much L1 cache as a a single core CPU.

So, for all K8 CPUs (Athlon 64, Sempr0n 64, Opteron ) you get 128KB of L1 cache per core.
